This page is pillar content, a jumping off point for presenting three different but related features that are in planning for development.

Background

We began work on “agency search” in December of 2024. The rough idea was to include agencies in the list of results, and eventually add a landing page template dedicated to organization level details.

As work got underway, however, it became apparent that each of the stakeholders involved in helping define the feature were trying to solve different problems that require different approaches to solve.

User Stories

The different use cases for Agency Search are perhaps best summed up by their user stories.

Help Seeker

As a help seeker I would like to see suggestions for the names of providers that I colloquially associate with certain types of help so that I can find help more intuitively.

Provider

As a provider of community services, I want to find my organization in the local Resource Directory so that I can confirm whether my information is present and accurate.

‣ summed up the need for this feature best:

Agencies have an existential crisis when they can't find themselves.

I&R Data Manager

As an I&R data manager I would like help gathering feedback from service providers so that I can verify information in our database is up-to-date more efficiently.

Objectives

  1. Help seekers need to find relevant resources without getting overwhelmed or distracted.
  2. Providers need to quickly identify themselves in the database to maintain peace of mind and affirm they are findable.
  3. I&R data managers need help with workflow automation so they can efficiently verify/assure their entire database at least once per year.

Each of these objectives should be considered, and probably solved, separately.
