Connect 211 uses Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to track user behavior in your Resource Directory. Because we use many custom tracking dimensions, the default Google Analytics dashboard does not display most of the information our users are interested in.

To solve that, we create and share a default dashboard in Google Looker Studio that provides basic information about user interaction.

Connect 211 is primarily a Platform team, not a data analytics team. We provide a simple overview, but if you are interested in more depth then we will connect you with trusted partners for advanced dashboards.

Dashboard Tour

The default Looker Studio Dashboard looks like this:

1. Users and Searches

1.1 Total Users

The number of unique visitors to your Resource Directory.

1.2 Searches

The number of searches those users performed. This often correlates with number of users, but may diverge when deep linked results and resources are used extensively. In other words, it’s possible for users to view resources while bypassing the Search Bar.

1.3 Pageviews

Exactly what you would think it is: the number time a page in the app has been viewed.

1.4 Searches with 0 results

A subset of the “Searches” number, this is how many times someone searched for resources that were unavailable in their area. This number scratches the surface of “needs coverage” stats.

2. Intent To Refer

2.1 Referrals

Better understood as “user interactions with the resource”; we are not a closed loop referral system so this does not guarantee a referral was made.

This number is an aggregate of the next three numbers.

2.2 Call Clicks
